Behind the Scenes Interview: @TheOneRingBTS

We are joined by a special guest, Jordan, the guy behind @TheOneRingBTS on Instagram and Multiverse Media on Youtube. Jordan has been a fan of Lord of the Rings since he was six years old, and he has a wealth of knowledge about the making of the movies. We talk about how Peter Jackson fought to get the films created, some of the changes that they almost made to condense the series into one movie, and some alternate casting choices for the Fellowship. We learned so much from Jordan recording this episode!

The movies are finished, what now? The emotional rollercoaster continues as Lindsay shares what happens to the members of the Fellowship after Return of the King. Return of the King: Part 7

"I can’t carry it for you, but I can carry you!” We’ve made it to the end of our LOTR Extended Edition journey. Kirsten is our special guest again, as we talk through the end of the Return of the King. From when Frodo and Sam start crawling up Mount Doom, and Aragorn charges forward to fight for Frodo, all the way to the end of the movie, it’s an emotional rollercoaster as we make parallels between Lord of the Rings and our real-life experiences.

Return of the King: Part 6

“Certainty of death! Small chance of success! What are we waiting for?” Kirsten returns as our guest to discuss the end of Return of the King. We start off talking about our LOTR crushes when we first watched the movies as young girls. Then we pick up where we left off in the movie, with Sam rescuing Frodo from Cirith Ungol. Legolas states the obvious by explaining Aragorn and company will stage a diversion at the Black Gate. We follow Frodo and Sam halfway up Mount Doom and wrap up with Aragorn’s iconic speech at the Black Gate. Just one more episode to go before we wrap up our movie watch through!

Return of the King: Part 5

“I am no man!” This episode is full of emotional moments like Eowyn killing the Witch King of Angmar, the glorious charge of the Rohirrim, Pippin and Gandalf’s beautiful sunset moment, the death of Theoden, and so much more. We also touch on racism in Tolkien’s works and make correlations between the movie and living through a pandemic. Laugh and cry along with us, as we chat through the battle of Pelennor Fields!

We start off talking about the woes of online dating in midst of a pandemic. And then, “Damn, Eomer!” That’s one of Lindsay’s first notes for this episode. We follow Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas through the Paths of the Dead, which leads us to Peter Jackson’s cameo. We also admire Gandalf’s fighting and more of Pippin’s bravery in the battle taking place at Minas Tirith. Then…oh no...oh no no no, dear god, no! It’s Shelob’s Lair. An arachnophobe and a person scared of spiders do their best to talk through this scene. Be warned, there’s lots of us freaking out!

Episode Nine: Return of the King, Part Three

“The Beacons are lit! Gondor calls for aid.” We’re back to discuss Return of the King, and it’s just the two of us for this episode! First we chat more about Lembas Bread and Kelcey’s surprise gift to Lindsay. We also give a shout out to the Walk to Mordor app. Then we dive into the movie to talk about the lighting of the beacons, Merry’s bravery, Faramir’s DADDY ISSUES, and of course, the infamous tomato scene with Denethor. Frodo finally makes it to 10/10 for being a little bitch when he sends Sam away.

Return of the King: Part 2

We return with Kirsten to chat more about Return of the King. First up, we check on Kelcey’s dog bite (she’s doing okay)! Then that Fool of a Took! Pippin gets his hands on the Palantir, but maybe that was secretly a heroic thing after all because it sets the stage for the rest of the movie. We follow Pippin and Gandalf to Minas Tirith, where they meet Denethor and Faramir, and the wizard and our favorite Hobbit have a touching moment on the balcony. Plus FINALLY the timeline of the stories makes sense as it intercuts with Frodo and Sam arriving at Minas Morgul!

Two Towers: Part 4
