Ch.7: Queer Lodgings

It’s time for a peaceful episode with sunshine and honeybees when we get to meet Beorn in Chapter 7, “Queer Lodgings.” In this chapter, Gandalf is leaving again?? But first, he plans the perfect scheme to introduce Bilbo and the Dwarves to the skin changer Beorn (not a changeling, which we discuss in detail!) where they enjoy the land of honey, bread, and ponies before trekking onto the ominous Mirkwood Forest.

Ch. 6: Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Fire

We find out what happens to Bilbo after he escapes the goblin tunnels in Chapter 6, “Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Fire.” We finally learn more about the eagles, ponder about Gandalf’s wizarding skills, and discuss what kind of superpowers we would like to have.

Ch.5: Riddles in the Dark

It’s time for one of the most iconic chapters of the Hobbit – Chapter 5, “Riddles in the Dark.” We are joined by one of our fellow Hobbits at Heart Nessa, who loves tea, cookies, and somehow walked a horse off of a ledge in Breath of the Wild. We finally meet Gollum, try to solve some riddles of our own (those old chestnuts!), and discuss a number of nerdy topics..
